The local detectives are at it again in the latest instalment of the Village Detectives cozy mystery series. Crime novelist Phoebe isn’t expecting anything special in the post and is rattled by receiving an invitation to her own funeral…marked for the next day.
Is it a prank? Is it a warning from an enemy? Is it a disgruntled fan? But the next morning, her local postman, who considers himself her number one critic, is killed when a package he’s delivering to her explodes in his face. So the Village Detectives are on the case.
I found this book slow going and I couldn’t really get invested in the unravelling of the mystery. or the characters.
