Helen Appleby has been released from prison after serving time for manslaughter in the killing of her partner. Helen just wants to lead a quiet life and get a fresh start by opening a book store. She finds a location, starts building her stock by buying used books and opens up.
But things start to go wrong…is someone sabotaging Helen’s attempts to build a good life? She can’t explain some of what happens, but are things beginning to spiral out of control? Can Helen get things back on track or will she be forced to kill again?
This author always builds an intriguing plot, with plenty of tension to ratchet up the suspense.
